The *Jātakas* mention Ariṭṭhapura¹ and Jetuttara² as the two capita-cities of the Sivi country. Ariṭṭhapura is, most probably, identical with Aristobothra of Ptolemy, in the north of the Punjab.³ And Jetuttara is evidently Jattaraur of Alberuni, the capital of Mewār.⁴ This perhaps indicates the spread of the Sivi people from the North to the South, and their migration to other places is also known.⁵
