v1.c6.82

² According to K. (i, 129.1 ff.) Kuntī leaves him a second choice open: “Or let me have a Brahman, if thou so please, perfected in all excellences, rejoicing in the weal of all beings. Whatever thou sayest, god or Brahman—as thou biddest, so will I do. From a god the fruit of a son comes forthwith, from a Brahman after a time.” This, too, of course is a tendentious insertion.
