In the famous Bhattiprolu inscriptions, we have some references to the committees and their officers. The committee is called *goṭhi*. In no. 1333 of Kielhorn's list we have mention of the ascetic of the committee (*goṭhi-samaṇa*) who is named Kuba (*kumbha*) and of the treasurer (*hiraṇakāra*) whose name is Buba, son of the Gāmaṇī (the Vedic word Grāmaṇī) No. 1335 mentions the *goṭhi* of the inhabitants of the hamlet (*nigama-puta*) headed by Kuberaka. No. 1338 mentions another *goṭhi*.
