**Exemption.** Movement was, however, declared free for festal nights (*Chāra-rātri*) but persons going about in veil, or in inappropriate dress, males in female's and females in male's dress (*prachchhanna-viparītaueshāḥ*), ascetics, persons with *lāthi* or weapon in their hands (*daṇḍa-śastra-hastāścha*) are to be examined and, if found guilty, to be punished (*doshato daṇḍyāḥ*).
