Of the same kind are the garments known as *Kauśeya* (produced in the country called *Kośakāra*) and *Chīnapaṭṭa* (*Chīnabhūmijaḥ*). V. R. R. Dikshitar proposes to identify *Chīna* with *Shina*, a Gilgit tribe known for its manufacture of silk [*Mauryan Polity*, p. 7].
