On the same ground of profit, Kauṭilya wants the State to provide the country with roads for cart-traffic (*chakra-patha*) by which much merchandise can be always carried (*vipulārambhatvāt*). He also recommends the tracks for beasts of burden like asses and camels [*Ib.*].
