The other fact which the *Ṭīkā* tells about his life concerns his marriage. It seems that he married “the daughter of the eldest of the maternal uncles who accompanied his mother to Pupphapura. Chandragupta wedding the daughter of his maternal uncle raised her to the dignity of Queen Consort.”
