This ceremony, administered as it was by the "Brahmadeva and Vyāsa" of those days, namely, Paṇḍit Viśveśvara Bhaṭṭa (nicknamed Gāgā Bhaṭṭa) of Benares, served to establish his *liaison* with the entire Hindu world of the time.
