*Nītiśāstra* is in its scope identical with *Arthaśāstra* and as such covers many of the topics dealt with in *Dharmaśāstra*. In the milieu of *Śukranīti* we have to move about with the categories chiefly of *Dharma* and *Artha*, i.e. the duties and desirables of man as an individual and in society.
