According to Manu (X, 20-23),²⁸ who preserves the old Vedic tradition, each of the three Brāhmaṇical orders can have *Vrātyas*. So there are (1) Brāhmaṇa-Vrātyas, Kṣatriya-Vrātyas and Vaiśya-Vrātyas.
