The form ‘*kaṇakku-pperuṅguṟi-pperumakkaḷ*’ and the presence of the second ‘*kaṇakku*’ which Venkayya brushed aside as superfluous, together with the words ‘*oḍu kūḍa*’ after ‘*perumakkaḷ*’ decidedly point to another way of translating the sentence.
