These records of the 10 and 11th centuries A. D. call for a few remarks in passing. Karikāla’s connection with Kāñcī is first mentioned in (b); and so also (d) first sets forth the story of Karikāla employing enemy kings in the construction of the embankment of the river. But even in the elaborate verse 49 of (d) we find no mention of Pallava Triṇētra.
