(c) No. 66. A song by Veṇṇi-kkuyattiyār comparing the relative merits of Karikāla and his Cēra foe after the battle of Veṇṇippaṟandalai. This piece is important because it gives the names of Karikāla-vaḷavaṉ and Veṇṇippaṟandalai, and mentions the suicide of the enemy—a striking confirmation of the data furnished by *Puṟam* 65. The author of this poem, whose name means "Potter woman of Veṇṇi" was most probably a native of Veṇṇi and an eyewitness to the battle that took place in its neighbourhood.
