² śarmavadbrāhmaṇasya syād rājño rakṣāsamanvitam; vaiśyasyapuṣṭisamyuktam śūdrasya preṣyasamyutam. Manu. II. 32. Kull. comments that these titles should be respectively śarman, varman, bhūti and dāsa.
