The Jaina Prākrit sources naturally give more details about the republic from which the apostle of their faith hailed—the Nāyas. They also give invaluable information pertaining to the Vajji-Magadhan war, the names and number of republics constituting the Vajjian Confederacy, etc. However, on the whole, they are less reliable and informative than the Buddhist texts regarding the geography of the republican region.
