Agniveśya (I)—the son of Devadatta, was an incarnation of Agni. Was known also by other names—Kānīna and Jātūkarṇa. He was a great sage, and the originator of the Brāhman group of Agniveśyāyana.¹ (Pravara-Angiras).²
