The main ¹⁴C-dated Neolithic sites are BARUDIH, BURZAHOM, CHIRAND, HALLUR, SANGANAKALLU, T. NARSIPUR, TEKKALAKOTTA, TERDAL, KODEKAL, PALAVOY, UTNUR and PAIYAMPALLI. On the basis of the dates the Neolithic of s. India as a whole can be bracketed between *c.* 2500 and 1000, that of Bihar between *c.* 1800 and 1000 and that of Kashmir between *c.* 2400 and 1500.
