Copper/bronze saws having a row of sharp teeth at the cutting edge were among the cutting tools used by the Harappans. Found at Mohenjo-daro, Chanhu-daro and LOTHAL, they are small and straight-backed, resembling the Egyptian types and akin to the present-day iron saws. The ones from LOTHAL have a proper set of teeth. Of questionable identity, iron saws have been found in the 'Andhra' levels of BRAHMAGIRI and at the late historical site of RATNAGIRI.
