At LOTHAL, according to the excavator, 'sometimes a private well and more than one bath-room were provided for a large wealthy family' (Rao, 1973, p. 111). However the published town plan and plan of Block B in the Acropolis at LOTHAL (*ibid.*, pp. 63, 65, figs. 12, 14) show only a brick-built well in Block B in the Acropolis, located at the corner of the main drain of the Acropolis, and does not form part of a house. The well is about 2 m in internal diameter as seen from the published drawing.
