Dabbers have been recovered from several sites, viz. HASTINĀPURA, ATRANJIKHERA, VAIŚĀLĪ, RAJBADIDANGA, NOH, KESARAPALLE, PRAKASH, NEVASA, BHOKARDAN, etc. The dabbers recovered from SAMBHAR bear the names of their owners either written in ink or incised.
