Of the two metal objects found at LANGHNAJ, one is a copper knife and the other an arrowhead. The knife, 30 cm long, is single-edged with a long and slightly thick tang. The thin, broad and straight blade, gradually tapering, has a square end with rounded corners. It bulges out a little and is imperceptibly thicker at the junction with the tang, which again is broad with a convex end. At the centre it measures 1.74, at the butt 1.27 and at the point 1.90 cm. It is a unique specimen and seems to be a hunting knife, also used for cutting up a carcass. It might have been hafted to a bone or wooden handle. It was not cast but finished when cold. An analogous knife, straight-edged and backed, comes from Dynastic Egypt; a specimen from Troy is also comparable (Petrie, 1917, p. 24, pl. XXVI, 141).
