On some clay lumps impressions of more than one seal occur. These could be the result of testing seals on a clay lump or may indicate a contract between parties. The superimposition of Toramāṇa's seal stamp over the Ghoṣitārāma monastery sealing from KAUŚĀMBĪ would however indicate the assertion of his authority over the ecclesiastical institution.
