The negligible occurrence of copper objects, which include a few small corroded pieces from SONPUR and CHIRAND, a bead from CHIRAND and a bangle piece from ORIUP reflects the scarcity of the metal. Microliths from the sites are represented by cores, waste flakes, blades and numerous small nodules on carnelian, chalcedony, quartz and chert. The appearance of iron in the uppermost Chalcolithic levels of SONPUR and CHIRAND is significant.
