.The Harappa parentage of the Chalcolithic cultures of Gujarat is well-established. The PRABHAS culture (c. 1800-1200 B.C.) has clearly many Harappa elements. The Prabhas Ware [11.8], in form and function, is obviously derived from the Harappa though the differential coloration is sometimes marked in some cases. Similarly the genesis of the Lustrous Red Ware [11.9] is evident at RANGPUR which yielded valuable evidence of the Harappa degenerating into the late Rangpur cultures. Dwindling external trade brought in the decline in the Gujarat Harappa; the people then probably mixed with local village cultures and ultimately lost their identity.
