The Malwa Ware is the dominant fabric of the ceramic industry. It is a buff or orange-slipped ware painted in black or dark brown. A variety of it occurring in abundance at ERAN has been called the Eran fabric. The *lotā*, concave-sided bowl, channel-spouted bowl and pedestalled goblet are the important shapes occurring in the fabric. The repertoire of painted designs is extremely rich and consists of over 600 motifs. These are both geometric and naturalistic in character. The latter group includes plants, animals and even human figures.
