PRAKASH, on the right bank of the Tapti, revealed a Chalcolithic occupation in its earliest levels, designated as Pd I, which was subdivided into two sub-pds, A and B. Sub-pd A had as many as four principal wares: (1) white-painted pale-grey and black-and-grey wares, (2) the Malwa Ware [11.10], (3) decorated ware with incised and applied designs, and (4) coarse burnished and other plain wares. A single sherd of the white-painted black-and-red ware of AHAR² fabric [11.6.2] also deserves mention. The pottery continued to occur in the succeeding Sub-pd B, which however is distinguished from the former by the introduction of the Jorwe ware and the lustrous red ware.
