v1.c9.s17.70

In the context of the megaliths of peninsular India [4.17.7-10] it may be stressed that c. India does not display a variety of megalithic monuments, the most dominant type being the stone circles with cairn filling. Secondly, if the ¹⁴C dates from HALLUR in Karnataka are taken into consideration, it is apparent that the megalithic people of s. India appear to be earlier in point of time than those in c. India or Vidarbha.
