Most of our information comes from nine excavated sites: (1) TILWARA, Dt Barmer; (2) BAGOR, Dt Bhilwara; (3) LANGHNAJ, Dt MAHESANA; (4) SARAI NAHAR RAI, Dt Pratapgarh; (5) LEKHAHIA and other rock shelters on the MORHANA PAHAR, Dt Mirzapur; (6) BHIMBETKA, Dt Raisen; (7) ADAMGARH, Dt Hoshangabad; (8) BIRBHANPUR, Dt Burdwan; and (9) SANGANAKALLU, Dt Bellary. Except the last two sites all have yielded animal remains besides stone industry.
