In the succeeding phase some of the stone tools like mace-heads, harvesters or knives, pick-axes and hoes provide evidence, though of an implied nature, of some sort of cultivation of plants. On the structural side houses were now built above ground. There was a greater diversification of cultural equipment; wheel-made pottery came to be used and the range of forms was considerably enlarged. Hunting and fishing would no doubt have continued even during this phase. Towards the end of this phase metal also seems to have been introduced.
