In Dts Lohit, Siang and Kameng of Arunachal Pradesh stray finds of ground and polished stone tools have been reported (Coggin Brown, 1917; Bopardikar, 1971. Goswami *et al.*, 1972). The tools are made of jadeite, not occurring locally, as well as locally available rocks like sandstone, schist and gneiss. Technologically they are divisible into (1) flaked edge-ground tools, (2) pecked and edge-ground tools, and (3) fully ground tools. Rounded-butt axes, shouldered celts and quardrangular axes and adzes are the common types.
