v1.c9.s8.6

The Nal-Nundara culture of s. Baluchistan is characterized by a pottery which is pale or greenish-buff with designs executed in black, blue, red or yellow. At Nal extended and fractional burials are met with in the cemetery. Flat axes, chisels and knives of copper have been found here. This culture came into being before the Harappa culture but was in existence during its lifetime. Stone weights, steatite beads, seals, copper objects and pots having *pīpal* leaf and intersecting designs suggest contacts with the Harappa. Early Nal has affinity with Amri in Sind. According to Fairservis, ‘Nal is most probably parallel in time with Damb Sadaat II.’
