Wheeler's excavations at the Citadel mound in 1950 brought to light the remains of fortifications including a couple of towers. However further work ought to be done to get a clearer picture of the defences. No fortifications have been excavated around the 'Lower Town', though on the analogy of KALIBANGAN and LOTHAL such a possibility cannot altogether be ruled out.
