v1.c9.s9.39
To the dietary of the people were added, besides the foregoing cereals and fruits, the fish, fowl, mutton, pork and beef, for which the animals concerned must have been domesticated. The other domesticated animals included the cat and dog—a brick from Chanhu-daro bears impressions of the paws of these animals in a manner which suggests the chasing of the former by the latter—and perhaps the elephant. The evidence on the camel and horse is very meagre and not wholly beyond doubt.
