Immediately to the w. of the tank-complex was the granary. It consisted of a podium over which stood 27 blocks of kiln-burnt bricks, arranged in three rows, each having nine blocks. Between the blocks was a passage, about 1 m in width, evidently provided for the circulation of air underneath the wooden superstructure in which grain was stored. In many of the blocks sockets have been identified, in which were evidently inserted the vertical timber beams of the superstructure. Along the n. side of the podium was the loading platform with an alcove into which probably moved carts laden with the grain. The overall area covered by the granary was 55×37 m.
