Āruṇeya.—An epithet of Śvetaketu, indicating his descent from Uddālaka Āruṇi and Aruṇa Aupaveśi. It is apparently confined to the Śatapatha Brāhmaṇa¹ and Chāndogya Upaniṣad,² in which Śvetaketu plays a great part.
