Kapi-vana Bhauvāyana is mentioned as a teacher in the Yajurveda Saṃhitās¹ and the Pañcaviṃśa Brāhmaṇa.² A rite called Kapivana’s Dvyaha (‘ceremony lasting two days’) is also referred to in the Kātyāyana Śrauta Sūtra.³
