**Kosambika-seṭṭhi.**—The banker of **Kosambī**. He adopted **Ghosaka** (*q.v.*), but later, when he had a son of his own, he tried in various ways to kill **Ghosaka**. All his plans failed, and he developed diarrhœa and died, even his plans of disinheriting **Ghosaka** having been frustrated by **Ghosaka**'s wife. **Kosambika-seṭṭhi**'s slave-woman, who helped in all his nefarious schemes, was called **Kālī**.¹
