Gaṇthipupphiya Thera.—An arahant. Ninety-one kappas ago he gave a gaṇthi-flower to the Buddha Vipassī. Forty-one kappas ago he was a king named Varaṇa.¹ He is probably identical with Hatthārohaputta.²
