**Chalaṅga.**—A brahmin of Haṃsavatī. He had one thousand eight hundred pupils with whose assistance he built a bridge over the Bhagīrathī for the Buddha Padumuttara and his disciples. He was a previous birth of Dhotaka Thera.¹
