3. Jotiya.—A Nigaṇṭha, for whom Paṇḍukābhaya built a house to the east of the Nicasusāna at Anurādhapura.¹ The Mahāvaṃsa Ṭīkā² calls him a Nagaravaḍdhaki. The Abhayagiri-vihāra was later erected on the spot occupied by Jotiya’s residence.³
