The Mahāgovinda Sutta seems to indicate that once, in the past, Dhataraṭṭha was king of Aṅga. But this, perhaps, refers to another country.¹³ Soṇa Koḷivisa, before he entered the Order, was a squire (paddhagu) of Aṅga.¹⁴
