1. Avaṭaphaliya Thera.—An arahant. In a previous birth, ninety-four kappas ago, he gave an avaṭa (tāla ?) fruit to the Pacceka Buddha Sataramsī.¹ He is probably identical with Sambula Kaccāyana.²
