In this passage Ānanda is spoken of as Vedehamuni. The Commentary⁶² explains it by *panditamuni*, and says further, *pandito hi ñānasankhātena vedena īhati sabbakiccāni karoti, tasmā vedeho ti vuccati; vedeho ca so muni cā ti vedehamuni.*⁶³
