Itivuttaka is also the name given to one of the nine divisions (*aṅga*) into which the Buddha’s preaching is divided and it is defined as follows: *vuttaṃ h’etaṃ Bhagavatā ti ādinayappavattā dasuttarasataṃ suttantā Itivuttakaṃ ti veditabbaṃ*.²
