**Papātapabbata.**—A mountain in Avanti, near Kuraraghara. It was a favourite spot of Mahā Kaccāna, and we are told of several discussions having taken place there.¹ Mahā Kaccāna’s attendant was, at that time, Soṇa Kuṭikaṇṇa (q.v.), yet a layman. He later became a monk, and the ten monks necessary for his ordination were found with great difficulty.²
