Kittinissaṅka laid out a garden of fruit trees in the vihāra-precincts, and later Devappatirāja, minister of Parakkamabāhu II., laid out, on the king's orders, a great grove of cocopalm, a yojana broad, from the vihāra up to Kālanaditittha.²
