In the Majjhima Nikāya are two suttas—the Cūla-Māluṅkyā⁴ and the Mahā-Māluṅkyā—both evidently preached before Māluṅkyāputta’s attainment of arahantship, because in both the Buddha speaks disparagingly of him.
