3. **Sāriputta.**—A monk of Dala in the **Rāmañña** country. He was born in **Padīpajeyya** in the reign of **Narapatisithu**, and was ordained by **Ānanda** of the **Sīhalasaṅgha**. He became one of the leaders of this group in **Rāmañña**. Narapati conferred on him the title of “ **Dhamma-vilāsa**,” and he was the author of one of the earliest law codes (**dhammasattha**) of Burma.¹
