DAKṢIṆAMALLA. A country in ancient India. This country is called Mallarājya. Its capital was Kuśinagara or Kuśīnara. In Mahābhārata mention is made that Bhīmasena, during his conquest brought this country under control. (M.B. Sabhā Parva, Chapter 30).
