He was one of the nineteen sons of King Bharata, the other eighteen being Kuśavarman, Ilāvarta, Brahmāvarta, Āryāvarta, Malaya, Bhadraketu, Sena, Indrasprk, Vidarbha, Kapi, Hari, Antarikṣa, Prabuddha, Pippalāyana, Āvirhotra, Dramiḍa, Camasa and Karabhājana.
